2011 NBA MVP

Its official! Derrick Rose was awarded the 2011 NBA MVP award yesterday afternoon in . The National Basketball Association announced today that Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose is the winner of the 2010-11 Kia Most Valuable Player Award. At 22 years old, Rose is the youngest MVP in NBA history.

Back in September at Bulls Media Day while being interviewed by the press, Derrick stated, "The way I look at it, why can't I be the MVP in the league? Why can't I be the best player in the league? I don't see why not. I work hard, I dedicate myself to the game and sacrifice a lot of things at a young age.

And he was right!

Congratulations to Derrick! He definitely deserves it.

It's not over yet, though. Derrick and the Bulls take on the Atlanta Hawks at the United Center tonight at 5pm pt on TNT. ATL leads this series 1-0. Hopefully, the Bulls can even the score, especially if they want a shot at the Eastern Conference finals.

Scottie Pippen tweeted: "MVP MVP MVP... make it loud tonight at the UC"
